Satin is a fabric woven in a satin weave with a glossy, smooth face and a matte back. The best qualities of this fabric are its pleasantly soft texture, graceful drape, and easy care.
The light sheen makes the fabric more elegant and beautiful, so it is most often used for sewing refined garments; therefore it is an excellent fabric for making dresses, skirts, and corsets.
This fabric is perfectly suited for tunics, blouses, nice shirts, vests, even airy garments and nightwear. Satin is also used to sew various interior decorations, such as curtains, chair covers, and tablecloths.
Does not contain elastane and therefore does not stretch.
