Cotton loop knit (French Terry) is a soft, comfortable and slightly stretchy fabric containing elastane.
On one side the fabric is smooth, while on the other side it has a small loop texture that provides extra comfort and warmth.
This fabric is ideal for sportswear, casual outfits, hats, sweaters, trousers and children's clothing.
Loop knit is breathable and ensures natural air circulation, making it a great choice for both cooler and warmer days. A practical and durable fabric with enough elasticity for comfortable everyday wear.
Sewing tips:
When sewing with cotton knit, it is recommended to use Jersey or Stretch needles. If the knit is very elastic, it is advisable to use Super Stretch needles, which are specially designed for stretchy fabrics. These needles have a rounded tip that allows them to glide easily between knit fibers without damaging the fabric. Needle size is usually 70/10 or 80/12.
