Cotton loopknit (French Terry) is a soft, comfortable and slightly stretchy fabric with elastane in the composition.
On one side the fabric is smooth, while on the other side it has a small loop structure that provides extra comfort and warmth.
This fabric is ideal for sportswear, casual wear, hats, sweatshirts, trousers and children's clothing.
Loopknit is breathable and provides natural air circulation, making it a great choice for both cooler and warmer days. A practical and durable fabric with enough elasticity for comfortable everyday wear.
Sewing tips:
When sewing with cotton knit, it is recommended to use Jersey or Stretch needles if the knit is very elastic it is recommended to use Super Stretch needles, which are specially designed for stretchy fabrics. These needles have a rounded tip that allows them to slide easily between the knit fibers without damaging the fabric. Needle size is usually 70/10 or 80/12.
