Cotton loopback knit (French Terry) is a soft, comfortable and slightly stretchy fabric that contains elastane.
On one side the fabric is smooth, while on the other side it has a small looped texture that adds extra comfort and warmth.
This fabric is ideal for sportswear, leisurewear, hats, sweaters, trousers and children's clothing.
Loopback knit is breathable and provides natural air circulation, making it a great choice for both cooler and warmer days. A practical and durable fabric with enough elasticity for comfortable everyday wear.
Sewing tips:
When sewing with cotton knit, it is recommended to use Jersey vai Stretch needles if the knit is very elastic then it is recommended to use Super Stretch needles, which are specially made for stretch fabrics. These needles have a rounded point that allows them to slide easily between the knit's fibres without damaging the fabric. Needle size is usually 70/10 or 80/12.
